Aerial Tulle Activity (Play Silks Alternative)

Play Silks are really popular right now, especially with preschool age children. They love them, theres really a lot of imaginary play potential there. I havent had a chance to either make and dye some colorful silk material for play or buy some, so I decided to make Emma something to kind of hold us over until then.

Remember when I was making tutus? Well, I had a lot of tulle left over, so I decided to make Emma a tulle wand. Im not really sure what to call it, but tulle wand sounds better than tulle on a stick. 😉

Emma enjoyed running around our yard with it, making the tulle fly in the wind.

I didnt purposely do it, but I think this one looks kind of patriotic. Cant you just see a bunch of children running through the yard with their own tulle wands? So much fun!

These were easy to make. I just tied long strips of tulle onto a stick we found.

Oh, and did you notice Emmas bag around her neck? That was handmade by a very good friend. Emma was using it to keep treasures in.

And she let me see what she had collected

Ah, I love nature. 🙂
