Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Traveler – ADORABLE!

From the moment my daughter Emma was born, she was swaddled. And she was quiet and happy as long as she was snug in my arms with a blanket wrapped tightly around her. The nurses swaddled her. I’m telling you, I could NOT get the swaddling technique down using a regular blanket (no velcro)! And to be honest, I had just given birth, was exhausted, and didn’t want to try to figure it out.

When the time came to take Emma home, I wished I had one of those nurses with me. Pathetic, I know. And I hadn’t even thought to buy a swaddler. It wasn’t until a few weeks later when I received a package from Target (from my oh-so-wonderful mom) containing different kinds of swaddlers and sleep sacks that Emma (and I) and I began sleeping better and longer.

Benefits of Swaddling

♥ Babies are more secure and sleep better.
Encourages self-soothing if swaddled with hands positioned near face.
Could reduce SIDS incidences.
♥ Babies fall asleep faster and sleep longer (reduces sudden jerky movements that might wake them).
♥ Helps baby focus on breastfeeding (keeping arms and legs out of the way).

Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe – Easy Peasy!

One of the things I love about the Kiddopotamus swaddlers is that they’re so simple and straightforward. That’s how things should be when you have a baby, you know? I can’t tell you how many times I had to quickly wrap Emma in the SwaddleMe to help calm her – the velcro closure makes it quick and easy. Being able to calm her swiftly was wonderful!

Sleep Sacks

I absolutely love sleep sacks! Arms are usually free, so if you have a baby who doesn’t like being swaddled tight this is a wonderful option. You can keep your baby in the sleep sack as long as they fit in it, and there are many sizes available. They keep baby warm at night and you don’t have to worry about him or her kicking blankets off in the middle of the night. I also used mine many times while my daughter was in her swing so I didn’t have to worry about her legs getting cold.

The Woombie

I haven’t tried this, but it has many rave reviews. And it makes sense that babies would love it. Definitely going to try one of these when I have my next baby!
I think anything that eases mommy’s mind when it concerns her baby is essential. These products are definitely worth putting on your baby list and would make great gifts for mommies-to-be!

  • My daughter loves to be swaddled also. We LOVE the car seat swaddler, it is the greatest thing ever. Lily hated her car seat before we bought the swaddler.

  • I have a Lily too and we swaddled her until 7-8 months!! SHE LOVED IT SO MUCH and slept “like a baby”. LOL!

We could not live w/o our – it was exactly that…a miracle!!

  • We’re just now trying to wean our 4-month-old out of the swaddler and into a wearable blanket. She LOVES the SwaddleMes and slept 7-8 hours from 7 weeks on in one (sometimes even up to 11-12 hours). Such a fabulous invention!

  • We swaddled both our girls and they started sleeping through the night at the 3.5 month mark. They LOVED it! And so did we!
