I recently saw BBC’s new miniseries version of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility for the first time and I have to say I am extremely impressed! I loved the film version of Sense and Sensibility, the one with Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson, but BBC’s version is definitely my new favorite! The music, the atmosphere, the actors – everything was perfect. I found myself completely engrossed even though I knew what was going to happen, though there were a few surprises… a sword fight is just one of the different twists this version features. Thanks to my mom for letting me borrow it, I’m planning to buy my own copy to wear out as soon as I can! :-) Then maybe you’ll get yours back… *grin*

You can actually watch the whole thing on youtube here! You have to click through and find the parts of the episodes though, which can be a pain (this link will take you to episode 1 of 7).

This is supposed to be a painting based on Sense and Sensibility – I think it’s so pretty!

One Response to BBC’s Sense and Sensibility

  • UMmmmmmm…I adore Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly. Something about *that* Mr. Darcy just makes me love to be in love…

    Many blessings-
