Thanks to Scotch(R) Double Sided Tape for sponsoring my writing about crafts.

Today I’m excited to present you with a Christmas craft tutorial!  I’m ready for Christmas, how about you?  I’m not quite ready to put my Christmas tree up, but when it comes to holiday crafts and presentations I’m there!  This particular project is something you can do whether you consider yourself “crafty” or not – and it’s easy enough to do with your kids!

How to make paper Christmas trees out of pretty scrapbooking paper

What You’ll Need:

Pretty scrapbook paper (It can be Christmas-themed or not)
Double-sided Scotch tape

Note:  I used the heavier card stock type scrapbook paper that you get in themed stacks because I wanted these to be able to withstand toddler assault.  And they have done well!  Emma insists that these are “hats” and will not leave them alone.  But that’s okay, it’s part of the fun.  :)  And I can always make more, right?

The “How-To”:

1.  Turn your paper at an angle and cut a semi-circle as seen below.

2.  This part takes a bit of patience to get it right but once you figure it out, it’s easy.  Place some double-sided tape on one of the straight inside edges of the semi-circle.  Then shape the paper into a cone with the curved part of the paper being the base of the tree.

You could also use a glue gun, but I wanted this project to be kid-friendly so my daughter could “help”.  :)

We’re done!  What do you think?

We are very happy with our trees (or hats) – and I had a lot of fun making them!
