Yes, you read that right. I’m a Wii Fit snob. And I freely admit it! When did I come to this conclusion? Well, it was while commenting on a fellow Wii Mommy’s Fitness Friday post that the revelation came to me. I suddenly realized that I was thinking this way:

Yoga? Without the balance board and my Wii? Are you kidding? Isn’t that boring? How can you tell if you’re balanced or not? (Wow, that is way too many question marks). Anyway, how will I be able to tell if I’m getting better at the exercise without a score at the end? I want to keep seeing that score of 99 at the end of my Warrior Pose – I NEED to see it!

Soccer heading. Would I really go out to a wet and muddy field (I live in a rainy state) and bounce balls off my head in real life? Just contemplating that gives me a headache. ;-)

Strength exercises. I love the strength workouts, especially the ones that focus on lower body (though heaven knows I need to work on the arm flab, too). I would never NEVER go to a gym and work out in front of other people. I would rather die overweight and unhealthy. Okay, maybe not. But I am not the type to go to a gym, I’m telling you. I love that I can stay healthy in the privacy of my own home. No one but me knows how silly I may look and that’s the way I like it.

Skiing? I’m likely to kill myself. Or break a leg. ‘Nuff said. (I really do want to try skiing someday though… don’t ask me how I grew up in Alaska and never ended up skiing, I have no idea!)

Hula Hoop. Well, my apartment is WAY too small to use a real hula hoop in. Plus I’d probably accidentally hit my daughter with it, knowing me. She’s been known to crawl behind me at just the wrong time and get wacked with a foot, poor thing! lol

The virtual run. Well, there’s really no comparison, is there? I mean, do you have an entire island at your disposal that always has gorgeous weather? And cute little puppy dogs to follow (you know how dangerous it is to follow in the wake of a real dog…)? Now that I’m thinking of islands I’m thinking of Lost. It would be cool to run around the virtual Lost island. Dodging the black smoke monster. Hoping Ben doesn’t catch up to you. Okay I’d better stop now.

So do you agree with me now? Am I a Wii Fit snob? Because I don’t know what I would do without mine – it is way cool!

  • Unfortunately I’m not a Wii Fit snob ’cause I don’t have one, but I would really like to become one.

    The idea of getting a score greatly appeals to me.

  • If that,s the definition a Wii fit snob. I guess I could become one. Cause I think the same. Gyms,too showy. Running in place,easy on the feet. Hula hoop,hard to keep the real ones on that hips.Soccer heading,Who knew you could do that. Ski jumping, Just think of the hospital bills. The process reports-Priceless.:-)

  • ROFL!!! Too funny! I am a wii fit snob too…(although I AM excited to try the EASPORTS ACTIVE when it comes out this summer!)… I really like the measuring…being able to track your progress and the visual cues for how you are progressing…working out.

  • Love the post! I have a Wii fit and I’m not a total Wii fit snob. I like outdoor exercise, not that it’s warm enough here yet to go for long walks or bike rides!

    I have a friend who says I should have joined their biggest loser group, because of my weight loss…but I said I wouldnt have liked going to the gym…I like working out in the privacy of my own home doing it when I want!

    After owning mine for almost 3 months, yesterday was the first day someone besides my husband and kids have seen me do the hula hoop! I am quite embarrassed doing it…like I really want everyone to see me wiggle my hips!

  • Very nice Lindsey! Yes, you may be a Wii Fit snob… but is there a better snob to be? You’re improving your self, physically and mentally. Which makes you a better person to be around and that puts smiles on faces around you, which just makes this world a better place to be.

  • I have been contemplating whether or not to get a wii mainly because I want the wii fit. It sounds like it may be just the product I need. Thanks for posting.
