I’m a new mommy, and therefore feel anything but glamorous.  My days are a whirlwind of feeding, rocking, burping, soothing, changing (diapers), and cleaning.  I’ve been wearing yoga pants and t-shirts for the entire six weeks since my son has been born, and haven’t felt “pretty” in the least for that long.  If I get a shower and some basic makeup on before my husband comes home I feel like I’ve really accomplished something!  Even if, by then, I most likely have spit up in my hair or on me somewhere.

I’m telling you all of this because:
1.  If you are or have been a new mom at some point, you’ll understand what I’m talking about, and
2.  I want you to see where I’m coming from and why it’s so important to me that I have something pretty, comfortable, and practical in my closet.

This is where Glamourmom comes in.  Did you know that mom Line Rothman, founder of Glamourmom, was the first to come up with the full-support built-in nursing bra tank?  She’s responsible for providing us with these wonderful pieces of clothing that make life with a newborn easier by making mealtime for baby less of a hassle.  Besides nursing bra tanks, they also have nursing bras (new!), nursing tops, sleepwear, dresses, and tankinis!

Guess What?  The folks at Glamourmom sent me one of their Nursing Bra Long Tops for review!

I was able to choose the color I wanted, so went with the stripes.  I thought it was a bit risky going with horizontal stripes since I still haven’t lost all the baby weight I want to, but I love the pattern… and it looks so great on that thin model!  I’m hoping to be that thin before long (though could those hips have really once spread enough to allow a baby passage?) so I went with it.  I can’t help but think it will look great as a layering tank, too. Under a jacket those stripes will be striking!

Here’s how it looks on me:

So I’m a small/medium in size right now.  Smalls are a little tight but I can still get into them.  I went with a medium in the striped tank.  It fits snugly, and once its on it looks and feels great!  The material is heavy and obviously top quality.  The built-in bra is supportive and even without nursing pads it is thick enough that I don’t have to worry about anything showing through (though its not padded).  The nursing bra hook closure is easily released in a hurry for those frantically hungry babies.  The length of the top is perfect – I love long tops that cover my rear and this one does it!

Final Thoughts and Recommendations

This is a top quality nursing shirt – it’s fashionable, provides discreet nursing, and is very comfortable.  At $44.00 it seems to be a bit pricey, but it really is made to last, made for great coverage, and super cute.  I can recommend it as one of the nicest nursing tops I own.  I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another.

On My Wishlist…

I so need the tummy support top on the left!  The shirt on the right looks CUTE!
