Time to make some clay ornaments!
No, it’s not too late, and yes you CAN do it! :) Your kids will adore you if you do!
What you’ll need:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
2 tbsp vegetable Oil
1 cup water
Baking utensils & dishes
First, mix together all of the dry ingredients and vegetable oil in a bowl. Slowly add the 1 cup of water and mix together until it’s a dough. Add a little flour and knead. Roll out dough to 3/4″ thick, cut out shapes (don’t forget the hole for hanging!), and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, 40 minutes. Let cool.
(I love my patient little girl!)
We used glitter glue to decorate ours – I had a package from the dollar store and it worked well!
Thread yarn, string, or ribbon through the holes and tie the ends, and you’re done!
We had a lot of fun with these!
It’s nice to know that these are made out of all natural ingredients (except for the glitter glue)… if you have little ones they’ll be very tempted to taste these cookie-like creations. ;-)
These look so cute on the tree – you’ve got to try it!
Thanks to Craft-O-Maniac for the idea and original recipe! I think the only thing I changed was I didn’t use nearly as much salt (because I read the recipe wrong). It still turned out for me though. :)
