I Went to My First Prenatal Appointment at…

the new place. If you have no idea what Im talking about, read my post about switching doctors mid-pregnancy. 😉

It. Was. Awesome. Well, they made a great first impression, anyway. They got me in and out of there in ONE hour and I heard the babys heartbeat, was measured, and had my blood drawn for that gestational diabetes test. All in that one hour! Seriously, at my last appointment at the LAST clinic, I waited for 2 1/2 hours with my 2-year-old in tow to see someone, anyone, just to get a checkup. So am I happy with my new clinic so far? Definitely yes.

The gestational diabetes test? That consisted of me drinking a bottle of sugar soda with a slight taste of lemon-lime to it. Yuck. I felt kind of sick after, too, but I think thats because it was 8:15 AM and I drank it in less than 2 minutes. I dont normally down overly sweet sodas first thing. Probably good.

Oh cool, I just found out I can go online and look at my test results and appointments and everything with this new place. Awwwwwwesome! I already can see that I dont have gestational diabetes. I didnt think I did, but they did tell me I shouldnt eat too much sugar because I can still develop it later on. Thats a tough thing to ask of me, but Ill try! 😉

Isaacs heartbeat was 130 bpm this time. I really dont know what its been the last few times because nobody told me and I didnt think to ask at the time. They always said he is normal and healthy, though. I thought 130 was kind of low, but that might be the worrying mommy in me. The NP didnt seem concerned at all, though.

I had just downed that sugar drink before the Doppler so he was probably in a slight sugar coma, lol.
