Does anyone have experience with a Sit ‘n Stand stroller?  I’m thinking about ordering one from Amazon.  The one I’m considering is the Baby Trend Sit ‘n Stand Tag-a-Long Stroller.  I love the idea of having a place for my 3-year-old to sit (or stand) when she gets tired of walking, and I do a lot of walking – almost every day if I can possibly get myself (and two kids) ready and outside early in the morning.

Here’s the Sit ‘n Stand:

I’ve also had my eye on the Joovy Caboose, which has a lot of excellent reviews.  I think the green one is gorgeous.  :)

My other option is a double jogging stroller.  I LOVED my single jogging stroller when Emma was a baby.  I love the way it rides so smoothly on all terrains, rough or smooth.  My only concern is that Emma might be too big for it before I get enough use out of it.

I’m also wondering how the Sit ‘n Stand will do on rough terrain.  Like grass.  I wish I was able to try one before buying!

Do you have experience with either?  I would love to hear what you think!

  • I have the green Joovy Caboose. Absolutely adore it, and from what I understand it folds up much smaller than a traditional sit n stand. We took it to Disney World with great success!

  • I’ve had this issue on my mind too. I’m curious what others think. My friend swears by her sit and stand stroller with her 3 year old and 10 month old.

  • We have It too (a Joovy Caboose one)… It’s great and yes, it should fold up to be much smaller than the traditional sit n stand.
Its great for family trips and shopping… good for all :)

  • I have the double sit n stand, which is nice because I wasn’t done with kids when I bought it. I have a 5mo, 2yo and 4yo and I can use it for the 2 little ones OR the big and a little one. I love mine, but it is quite large when its folded up (but again, mine is the double, not traditional). I’ve found it works great on most terrains.

  • I’ve owned both. I had the sit-n-stand when I just had Ashley, Zander, and Jace. As the boys got older, it was great for allowing them to take turns sitting/standing.

Now I own the Joovy, and while it’s great, there’s a lot I don’t like: the seat is smaller and much more awkward for sitting and/or standing. (Both ways seem so uncomfortable to me.) And the basket is next to impossible to get to and is WAY too small to hold everything required for an outing. Now, keep in mind that I have six kids, so I require lots more stuff than the normal person, but getting to the basket is still difficult and drives me nuts.

If I had it to do over again, I’d probably buy another sit n stand. Yes, they’re a bit more bulky, but in my opinion, it’s an even trade for what the Joovy lacks.

I’m sure I didn’t help at all, but that’s my 50 cents worth.

  • I’ve been thinking about the same thing. I have a Mutsy Spider Stroller and where as it’s fold up pretty well I am not completely happy with it as it just fits my daughter who is on the small size. I have a 3 year old and 7 month old baby boy so I’m looking for options right now because it’s hard to get out with two kids as I don’t always want to wear my son in front pouch. Also I’m in Oregon where it rains a lot so I am looking for something that can also keep my kids protected from the elements especially since the rainy season is upon us.

  • Hi, my nephews are 1 and 2.5 years old, so my sister uses double jogging stroller, she told me that she started using it from the beginning and she’s happy with it

  • I don’t own a sit and stand stroller, but like you would love to own one! I love your post about them and my girls would love something like this! Thanks for this post and I am excited to read more of the comments on this!
