I was pretty surprised to find out I was having a boy, so it’s taken me awhile to get to the point where I’m ready to start thinking nursery themes and boy stuff!  This morning I was looking at dinosaurs, I love them!  Here are some favorites from Etsy:

  • We did Dr. Seuss! Although, I wouldnt necessarily say it is strictly ‘boy’, we didnt know what we were having. I painted some pictures for his room, chose some fun fabrics, it was great! I love it! Here is a link…

It is fun because it can grow with him, you know? I think dinosaurs will be great, and it will also be one he will love when he gets a little older.

My one piece of boy nursery advice is not to hang anything you love near the changing table. Jack peed ALL over that wall, several times.

    • Oh my goodness, that is ADORABLE! Thanks so much for sharing the link. :) I can’t believe you sketched and painted those pictures from the crib sheets! I probably would have cheated and framed illustrations… ;-)

And… peeing on the wall? I’m speechless. Thank you for preparing me, LOL.

  • My mom always told me I couldn’t do a mural on my bedroom wall, so someday when I have a kid, I’m going to do a giant mural all over the room. I’m thinking either knights and castles or Egypt (I blame Indiana Jones for this odd hobby of mine) for a boy, and if I have a girl, perhaps Princesses and castles? Something adventurous that they can like for a really long time :D Or, I could paint up the room to look like a soccer pitch and then install green carpet! So many ideas float around in my head lol This is why mom doesn’t let me have free reign of my room…

  • I have sailboat mural all over my son’s walls. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Boys are so fun. :)

  • I did an alphabet theme for my son’s room. I like that it could grow with him. The main focus is a set of alphabet cards I got from Land of Nod. I still love looking at them.

  • We did a Winnie the Pooh theme for our son for two reasons, one we could use the same theme later on for a girl and two, it was very popular and there were TONS of items to choose from and lots of different varieties to choose from.
I love the Noah’s Ark theme and I’m tempted to do that with my next son (maybe if we have money I might)…I had always thought I would do a Noah’s Ark theme but when I had my son it ended up being really hard to find anything. Love your dinosaur theme though.

  • Thank you for sharing your ideas with your baby boy with us. My son & his gf are going to be parents in early december, they are thinking automobiles. I plan on making a nursery for our home for our first grandbaby, and this gave me some unique sites to also think about. THANK you!

    • You can click on the links to find these items for sale on Etsy (a place where anyone can sell handmade stuff). :) However, this post is old so most of these are probably sold. You can go to the etsy website and search for dinosaur nursery decor, though!
