Calm My Anxious Heart: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Contentment

I was thrilled when I saw that this is free on the Kindle now!  I own a paperback copy and REALLY recommend it – it’s encouraging in so many ways!

Although many Christian women say they trust God, their lives are filled with worry and anxiety-about their children, their finances, their relationships, their jobs. They know their lives should be characterized by faith in God, but they’re unsure of how to get that kind of faith. This book and twelve-week study helps women grow in contentment as they address the barriers to contentment and how to overcome them.

There were so many things I wanted to remember and that made a huge impact on me as I read this book that I started keeping a journal so I would remember some of the things I needed to remember.  It really helped me to learn to trust God in a whole new way… completely!  I didn’t realize how much I liked to be in control of my future and the things that happen to me in life – that was a major source of my anxiety over my future and the actions of my family.  I can reeeeally recommend buying this, even if you just read some of it on the Kindle for PC or phone apps it’s worth it.   :)  I hope it blesses you as much as it did me!

Get it here.

  • I have a question, if you or your readers have a minute. Do not want to waste your time. Do you have a Kindle, I want to get my 13 and 10 yr old a Kindle or Ematic EB101B 7″ E-Book Reader from Walmart. Which do I get and I really know little about them. Really like your book review, going to check it out, thanks.

    • Not wasting my time at all! I’ve been thinking about blogging about my Kindle – I got it about 3 weeks ago for my birthday and I LOVE it. I have a Literati too – I don’t know anything about the Ematic but I looked it up and can probably give you a little comparison. You know, what features are the best/used the most.

Okay one of the very good things about the Ematic is that it reads epub, PDF, and all those other common formats, something the Kindle doesn’t do – Kindle only lets you read the books bought on Amazon.com and PDFs. If you want to do online library lending like library2go through your library you’ll want something that can read those… Kindle won’t.

BUT I love my Kindle and think it’s much better than the Literati – it works so smoothly and you can sort and organize the books efficiently, something my Literati doesn’t do. The Ematic reminds me of the Literati in that it’s color and has those other features.

The battery life is another really big thing – the color and backlit screen will suck the battery life fast and the Kindle lasts for a LONG time (like a month with the wireless turned off!). My literati is dead after a few hours of reading which is frustrating.

If you want to replace all of your books and put them on the eReader and will be reading a LOT then definitely get the Kindle.

I personally would go with the Kindle – Amazon has great freebies and promos and it’s really comfortable to read on.

Another option could be the NookColor, I’ve heard that’s a great eReader but it’s also pricey.

Good luck on your decision! :) I hope this helps ya!
