This is Wally Wonderbug – isn’t he cute?

I didn’t have an activity center like this for my daughter when she was a baby, so now (at age 3) she’s making up for it by playing with Wally and helping to entertain my baby boy with it.  Isaac is only 2 months right now and Wally is recommended for 4 months to walking, but he can sit in it and reach most of the toys. What he loves most right now are the bright colors and the fact that all of the toys make noise.  Here he is, being introduced to Wally for the first time:

Putting Wally Together:

This is the part I usually hate.  I actually put off assembling Wally for about a week because I wasn’t looking forward to figuring it out.  Imagine my delight when I saw that there are no screws or special tools needed – you literally snap the entire thing together (even the toys snap right on) and you’re done!  Awesooooome!

The toys are great!  There are eight of them and they spin, slide, twist, rattle, crinkle, and play music.  Most of them can be grabbed, pulled, and mouthed, too.

One of the highlights of Wally is the WonderWorm.  When the colored buttons on the back of this worm are pushed, they light up and different songs play, a baby giggles, or it says something sweet like, “You’re a cute baby!”.  This can be turned off and has two different volume levels – I love that!

Other features include:

  • A small tray for snacks or toys
  • The seat spins 360 degrees
  • Height-adjustable seat
  • Easily dissembles for storage
  • The only thing you need batteries for is the WonderWorm, which takes 2 AA batteries

Other Thoughts:

One of the things I really love about Wally is the fact that it is so easily taken apart for storage.

Any mom of a baby knows how much stuff you end up with – I have a swing, a tummy time mat, and a rocking chair in our tiny living room and definitely don’t have room for more baby toys and gear so being able to take it apart and store it when we’re not using it is a must.

The toys included on this activity center are perfect for a curious baby, though I do wish they had included a mirror.  The way Wally adjusts in height for your growing baby is in the seat – tightening it will lift your baby up or bring him down, and I found that to work well.  In fact, I can’t think of anything I don’t like about Wally!  I anticipate he’ll give my little guy hours and hours of fun as he grows.
