This is not a sponsored post – I paid for this shawl myself and had to share my thoughts on it!

A little over a year ago, I was pregnant and happily writing out my “For Baby” list. It was full of necessities (crib, layette, etc) with a few “luxury” items thrown in. At the top of my list was a nursing cover, which some might consider a luxury item. I don’t. I’ve always been very modest and wanted something that I didn’t have to worry about flapping open (oh horrors!) and that covered me and my little one completely. After searching extensively online and reading countless reviews on the many styles of nursing covers available, I was getting a bit discouraged. There didn’t seem to be many options that didn’t scream “I’m nursing here!” It was really important to me that I draw very little attention to myself (little did I know how hard that would be with a child that screams bloody murder when she’s hungry, but that’s another story).

When I finally came across the L’ovedbaby Nursing Shawl, I was so impressed – “THAT’S a nursing cover?” It looks like a stylish cover-up someone could wear anytime! It was love at first sight. Then I saw the price, and knew there would be no excuses.  How could something be so gorgeous and affordable?  I didn’t argue, just ordered.

Fast-forward to the present. I now have a beautiful little girl, nine months old, and I’m still breastfeeding her. And still using my L’ovedbaby Nursing Shawl! Not only is it extremely comfortable to wear, but it’s totally stylish. I’ve worn it as a cover-up over a shirt that my daughter spit up on (note to self: Bring extra clothing for ME) while on a trip and received compliments on it, so it’s wonderful to have in case of emergencies. When nursing, I don’t have to worry about extra skin showing at all, and I can peek down at my daughter while she’s nursing in peace, which she loves of course.

♥ Lightweight, soft, and comfortable to wear
♥ Easy to throw on or off quickly
♥ Totally stylish – you can use it as a cover-up anytime
♥ Affordable!
♥ Machine-washable
♥ Easily carried with you in the included small drawstring pouch
♥ No worries about coverage – it covers front and back
♥ Wide neck allows eye contact between you and baby
♥ Many colors to choose from
♥ Can be used as stroller, bassinet, or car seat covers, or a baby blanket

♥ I seriously can’t think of anything except that my daughter doesn’t like to be covered in the summertime because it gets too hot. I remedy that by uncovering her head, but I’m still covered! (Obviously not a true con)

I’d call this is a necessity for your baby if you’re going to nurse, especially at such an affordable price. It would be a great gift idea, too! So head on over to LovedBaby and order one already!

  • I think those things are so cool! I looked at a bunch of nursing shawls when I was pregnant, but then quickly realized after my twins were born that it wasn’t practical for nursing 2 babies at once (which is what I ended up doing 90% of the time). No nursing in public for me, too much of a spectacle with 2!

Oh well, maybe if I have a singleton someday I could get a pretty shawl. :)

  • I’ve seen these before and thought they looked great! I agree with you… it is NOT a luxury.. it is a must have (especially when you are modest) and truly even if you aren’t because some people get so offended (they shouldn’t.. but they do).

The only thing I thought about this that would be a problem is the fact that Graham HATED to have his face covered! It looks very functional though!!! And beautiful!!

About the Ergo… BUY ONE! I’m not even kidding! I love it so much that I bought it for a friend of mine. Yes, we still use it. We love to go to this historic area where we live (we have a season pass) and parts of it are outdoor and indoor.. it is so nice to just have him in the carrier rather than a stroller. I know we will be using it for a while (besides, we want more kids!)

    Great review!

  • That looks like a great nursing cover.

  • That was very cute and functional. It certainly beats covering up with the ever slippery baby blanket! :) I wish they had those when I was nursing. :)

  • OMG! I get to see you! You’re so beautiful! I adore you!
