Ikea!  Oh my, the excitement!  I had no idea what I had been missing out on – and I’ve lived near one for over 7 years!  Aieeee, the torture!

Oh well, now I can remedy this aforementioned unfortunate situation.  I know the joys of Ikea and I will take advantage of it forevermore, and NEVER – I mean NEVER – move anywhere that doesn’t have an Ikea nearby.

Okay.  *deep breath*

I am calm and composed once more.

I know you’re dying to see what I bought – I spent under $100.00 and bought quite a few things that I’ve been wanting but didn’t feel I could afford yet.

So now, without further ado, my Ikea swag:

(1)  The Simple Yet Adorable Ikea Storage Box
Do you know what I can do with this?  Mod podge it!  So excited!
Only $14.99!

The Extremely Cute and Colorful Ikea Curtains
These are going in my living room!
$29.99 (There are other great deals for less but I wanted these curtains – both panels and the tie-backs came with)

I couldn’t find the listing on the Ikea website, but I also bought this set of one duvet cover and two pillowcases by Alvine – isn’t it gorgeous?  I love it!  It’s going to be perfect for the down comforter I won a couple months ago but am afraid to take out of the closet for fear it will get dirty.  lol
You can see all of the duvet covers at Ikea here.
$39.99 (Again, there are all kinds of deals, but I fell in love with this one)

Soft BarnSlig Toys (the blue wolf, to be exact)
For the price, I couldn’t resist, and neither could Emma!

Ikea Hanging Storage Baskets
I love these!  My daughter has way too many small things lying around the house – this will be perfect for her room… if only we can figure a way to get it hanging from the ceiling…

Ikea Heart Rug
Hey, I needed to do some Valentine’s Day decorating!  :-)

That’s it.  :-)  I really feel like I scored!  I never get that much great stuff for that amount of money ANYWHERE else.  I don’t even want to look at Walmart or Target ever again.  Seriously.

Have you ever been to Ikea?  What did you get, or what would you like to get?

  • IKEA has some great stuff, but I was not made for their shopping concept. I always leave there confused.

    • I was lucky – I had a guide! lol From what I understand, you look at their showrooms and if you see something you want to buy you write down the aisle number and product number on the tag attached to it. Then when you pass through the warehouse area before you get to the registers to pay, you find the aisle and product and grab the box. For instance, the toy box I bought for $14.99 was aisle 15, product 18. It was really easy to find and grab on our way out. :-) So much fun! And there are plenty of things you can grab and throw into your cart as you pass through the showrooms, of course.

      Does that help?

  • Ya know I’ve NEVER been to Ikea. I’m not sure there’s one around. But, I’ve always seen advertisements and such and it looks like a place I could get lost in!!! *LOL*

  • So you’ve finally been initiated! I am addicted to Ikea, though I might go there once every other month (there’s one 15 minutes from my parents’). I love their designs, and even better, their prices. Have you checked out the As Is area, usually near the registers? I got a lot of curtain panels and a duvet cover for $.99 each. It’s generally stuff that’s been returned and not in its original packaging, but you can find great stuff there, even furniture.

    • There didn’t seem to be a lot in the as-is area, but I didn’t get much of a chance to look. I will next time! :-) If I had known to look for duvet covers/curtains, I would have. :-)

  • OMG, Lindsey, it looks like you rocked Ikea! I love that storage box- and we swear by the hanging storage thingys. We went to Home Depot and got a hook for under $1. It works until your child hits about 5 and thinks that for some bizarre reason trying to climb the thing sounds like a smart idea. LOL- but honestly our first one lasted about 3-4 years!! Toldja that you’d be hooked!! :D Glad you had fun.

  • How fun! They finally build an IKEA here, but it’s quite a drive to get to so I haven’t ventured out to it yet. I have heard great things and hope to go one day. Thanks for talking about how it works, if I didn’t know I would have been so confused!

  • Thank you so much for your post. I AM SOOOOO LOVING THAT storage box. IKEA should have rewarded you. I am telling all the people I know who are in need of a storage box like that. I wanted something like that and you can’t beat the price. thank you :)
