Naptime Nanny Storybook CD Review
Baby & Toddler, Entertainment, Fun Stuff, Product Reviews — By Lindsey on June 9, 2011 at 1:00 amA recent addition to my daughter’s CD collection is this set of three Naptime Nanny CDs. There’s a cool story behind the creation of this collection of children’s stories for quiet time. It was a preschool teacher who first decided that a CD full of stories would be perfect for nap time – some children were a little too old for sleeping during that time but would still benefit from rest. Music was nice, but stories had the best results. So Naptime Nanny came into existence – and I’m so glad!
I tested these out on my 3-year-old daughter, wondering if she would be able to concentrate on them. There are times throughout the day I try to have her play quietly in her room and music or stories on CD are the best way to keep her contented for periods of time. I was delighted to find that she was interested in each story and that it helped her to sit quietly for awhile. And she’s THREE, did I mention that? This is a child who hates to sit still.
The stories aren’t simple narration. They have sound effects and music, adding to the charm and giving little ears more of a reason to listen. For instance, in the story “The Grasshopper and the Ants” (which, incidentally, you can listen to for free HERE), you’ll hear the sound of grasshoppers. I love it!
Needless to say, these CDs have made mommy happy – they’re definitely worth having!
I can think of other great reasons to own these storybook CDs:
- They’re great for a distraction on long car trips
- If your little one has trouble sleeping at night, it could be a great way to lull him/her to sleep
- They would be great for a story time during a birthday party or sleepover
And, in my experience, kids love to hear the same stories over and over and over… this could give you a break and make your children happy, too! :)
Buy it!
You can purchase the CDs for $15.00 each OR download the MP3s for $13.00.
