Have you ever tried the Method line of green cleaners?  I bought one of their non-toxic all-purpose cleaners (pink grapefruit scent) a few months ago because I really liked the price and I was very happy with it!  Well, now Method has a new line of cleaners that are antibacterial called Method Antibac – awesome, right?  Especially since flu season is upon us.  These botanical cleaners are different in that they kill 99.99% of household bacteria including E.coli, salmonella, influenza A, and the H1N1 virus without using bleach and triclosan.  I hate bleach, so this is a huge plus for me.  The price is great, too, at $3.99!

As a member of the Green and Clean Mom Method Antibac Blog Tour, I received three Antibac products from Method to try out:  Spearmint Antibacterial Bathroom Cleaner, Lemon Verbena Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner, and Lemon Verbena All-Purpose Cleaning and Disinfecting Wipes.

I love the convenience of disinfecting wipes, don’t you?  Being able to whip out a wipe makes mess cleanup 10 times easier, and during the flu season they’re especially nice to have around.  I’ve gone over all the doorknobs, the garbage can, chairs, cupboards, and other areas my little girl’s hands can reach, and it’s comforting to know that germs are being annihilated in my wake.  These particular wipes are thicker and more foamy than I’ve seen in other wipes, too.  As far as the lemon verbena scent, I wasn’t real impressed with that.  Take note that I’m pregnant and sensitive to smells, though.  I just didn’t like this scent at all – it wasn’t quite lemony enough and was a bit overpowering.  Besides this, the wipes work really well, though – I would purchase them!  I’m hoping they become available in another scent.

The Antibac Kitchen and Bathroom cleaners I am happy with as well.  The bathroom cleaner is made especially to target soap scum and hard water stains, and I was impressed with how well it cleaned in my shower and even got all of the dirty chrome faucet in one spray ‘n swipe.  :)  I like the Spearmint scent a lot more than the lemon verbena, too.

The kitchen cleaner is, unfortunately, lemon verbena scented.  But when tested in my kitchen, I was more than satisfied with how well  it cleaned.

So, a quick list of pros and cons of the Method Antibac line…

Pros:

  • Clean without harsh chemicals
  • Kill 99.9% of bacteria and germs
  • They work well
  • Price is awesome at $3.99 for a large bottle

Cons:

  • The lemon verbena scent wasn’t my favorite and both scents were a bit overpowering if I sprayed too much at once.  I’m wishing the Antibac line came in grapefruit scent because I loved that!

I definitely recommend your checking out the Method line; besides home cleaning products they have laundry products, hand and body washes, and even products for kids and babies including bubble bath and diaper cream.  You can purchase Method Antibac products at Target, Lowes, Safeway, and other retail stores.
