The end of the lovely holiday vacation is over for me tomorrow! How sad! I don’t get any weekdays off for New Years, but my husband gets another four-day weekend. *grumble* I don’t like working when my husband is off, lol.

We’re just laying low today. We’re searching for a church right now so I found some sermons for us to listen to online this morning. I think we found one we want to try next Sunday! I’m excited. :-) John is playing a gun-toting game on PS3 and Emma is watching football with him. How did that happen? I never liked sports much myself, but then I’m SO not coordinated, so it may have been a pride issue. ;-) I would love for Emma to be more athletic than I was, so I’m glad her daddy is a sports fan! He can teach her to play basketball and soccer and all that fun stuff.

I’m going to try to get some reading in today. I started Gatekeepers by Robert Liparulo last night and so far it’s great! I’m trying to think of some young men or boys that I know that I could pass it on to after, but I don’t really know any. I think my sister’s daughter would like it though so I think I’ll give it to her. It’s very very well-written for a young adult novel, which I love! And plenty suspenseful. :-) Also, I’ve started my review of Faking Grace by Tamera Leigh and should have that up this week after I submit it to bookloons.com. I received Kiss by Ted Dekker and Erin Healy last week and I am SO excited about reading it! I can’t wait! :-)

I did some yoga on my Wii Fit this morning but I felt so weak, like my body isn’t wanting to wake up. Guess I’m just tired. We did have a very busy weekend what with Christmas and visiting family. It was nice, though. Anyway, I wasn’t able to do my Wii Fit yesterday (first day I’ve missed!) and this morning it said, “So, too busy to come exercise yesterday, eh?” – LOL. Hilarious. I miss ONE out of 11 days! ;-) Funny. I like that it keeps you accountable, though. I think one Sunday it said it would be a good day to take a break, so it does encourage getting rested up.

Emma is teething. It’s awful, but I think it’s worse for some people. She’s okay as long as she gets nursed everytime she makes a peep, lol. The advice I’ve received has been to give her wet washcloths, infant tylenol, teething tablets, and small teether toys. So far she throws the damp washcloths, tries to chew on everything but ends up crying in frustration, and I’m not sure how much the infant tylenol works, but I don’t really want to give that to her very often. She liks to chew on her plastic spoon for a little while. I’m going to try to get teething tablets today if I can find some. Does anyone have any other teething advice?

  • Oh poor Emma! I wish I had a good tip for you, but unfortunately Alex is way far away from the teething days. I used to give him frozen pretzels (those Super Pretzels).
Nice that you Wii fit gives you a little guilt! :) It would give me the what for definitely. I have nogt been a very good workout girl this week. Too tired.

    Have a great Sunday!!!!

  • Teething tablets worked fantastically for us.
You might also try tying the washcloth in a knot, wetting it, then freezing it.

  • My oldest is the only one that had a hard time with teething, and I swear by Humphrey’s 3 teetining tablets.

  • How did you get involved with Bookloons? That’s such a cool site!I got the Wii Fit for Christmas but doc says I can’t exceersize at all until February. I can’t wait to get started thought!

  • My daughter used to chew on a burp cloth when she was teething. She didn’t like wet ones or cold ones or any of those teether toys.

I love the Wii Fit. My hubby got me it the day after Christmas. All the stores were sold out before Christmas, and we were lucky to get one of only two in the store the day after. I’m not too good at the yoga yet, but I love the step aerobics and the balance games.
