Review of Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Wicked Lovely
by Melissa Marr
HarperCollins, 2007

In Wicked Lovely, there are two dimensions to Aislinns world. Beyond the normal urban life around her is a beautiful and terrifying aspect that only she sees a realm in which faeries co-exist with unsuspecting mortals. They are not your average fairy godmothers either. Many are rude and rowdy, ready to make trouble in any form. Aislinn (Ash) bears the burden of the faery sight, inherited from her mother and grandmother, by pretending not to notice them. She follows rules made for the safety of those who have the sight: Rule #1: Dont ever attract faeries attention. Rule #2: Dont answer invisible faeries. Rule #3: Dont stare at invisible faeries.
