So How Was Your Mother’s Day? {+ My Hilarious Saturday Ikea Trip Story}

Was it great? Was it horrible and you cant say anything because the people who made it horrible read your blog? lol

Tell me about your Mothers Day!

Heres my story:

Now the actual Mothers Day on Sunday was not fun, mainly because I wasnt feeling well at all (getting over a cold). I had to get up and make my own coffee, too. *sniff* My two-year-old did sleep in, so that was something. LOL Oh the things we consider a blessing! 😉

The day before Mothers Day I was feeling pretty good I willed myself to feel good because we were going to IKEA! Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I would drag myself there half dead, doncha know. Some people would probably say it wasnt the BEST Ikea trip it could have been since on the way there my husband hit a curb and we ended with a FLAT TIRE.

I guess I should be thankful we just hit a curb.

And that we made it to the Ikea parking lot before realizing the tire was flat!

Yeah, I made (and I mean MADE) my husband take me to Ikea so that the trip would be easier. I didnt want to have to drive through the big city. I didnt want to have to carry stuff out and load it myself. Im no fool, I know that despite the deep sighs and staring at the ceiling as youre shopping, its worth having the man there at the end of the trip. Plus he could keep Emma busy while I was wandering the aisles at my leisure.

Okay, so it wasnt so leisurely.

But can you believe he ran over a curb and gave us a FLAT TIRE? *sigh* Its like he willed it to be so. Whoops, we have a flat guess Im going to have to change the tire while you run into Ikea! Yeah right.

Well it ended up being more drawn out than that because for some reason there was no jack in our car and NO place within a walking distance with a jack to sell us. Can you believe it? There was even a super Target John jogged to down the road and no jack. Thats nuts.

So anyway, we ended up having to call a tow truck. I was not happy about spending $100 on that since my daughters birthday is coming up this weekend and hello, were at Ikea! If I want to spend $100, Ill spend it there! But I determined not to let it ruin anything for me. I just said, We ARE going into Ikea and no matter how worn out we are we ARE spending time in there getting everything I need.

Mean, arent I? 😉

Anyway, I did end up getting to enjoy my Ikea trip and I loved having John there. It was his first time! He had been warned by all of his husband friends to avoid the place like the plague, but he did it all for me and Im very thankful that he made it a pleasant trip.

Despite the flat tire.

So my Mothers Day ended up being on Saturday but hey, that was fine by me!

Ill post on my Ikea finds later. LOVE Ikea!

By the way, I completely forgot that my husband brought Five Guys Burgers and Fries home for lunch on Sunday. That totally made Mothers Day a good one. How could I forget? So I take it back. 😉

Despite the fact I had to make my own coffee.
