I can’t help but smile when thinking about Babar the elephant and his family. I remember reading about him as a child and there’s just something warm and inviting about the way the stories are written and illustrated. There are over 42 Babar book titles published now, did you know that?
Babar is celebrating his 80th birthday this year – I didn’t realize he had been delighting both children and adults alike for that long! In celebration, there are many new products in the works celebrating in a vintage fashion with board books, toys, puzzles, games, and stuffed animals. It’s an added bonus that you can talk about the different seasons of the year and how they differ while reading about the children having water fights in the warm sunshine (with their trunks!), raking leaves in the autumn, and ice skating in the winter. We enjoyed this one!

Right now my granddaughter’s favorite book is 10 LITTLE LADYBUGS. It is a board book with raised lady bugs that reduce in number as you turn the pages. There are several books in this series and she has 3 of them. She also likes Eric Carle’s THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR.
