Isaac loves Lift-the-Flap books, and he’s finally come to an age where he is learning (most of the time) not to destroy them, yay! Still, he sometimes is a little too rough with his books (and has been known to chew them, yikes)… that’s okay, though, because there are lift-the-flap books for toddlers like this one! Spot the Animals is a great first lift-the-flap because its a board book and the flaps are a sturdy board rather than paper – and it holds up wonderfully to rough toddler handling I’m glad to say.
This book primarily teaches colors but as an added bonus Isaac is also learning random facts about animals! For instance, he has learned that crabs are speedy little animals that run sideways and live at the beach, and that the Emerald Tree Boa is smooth and scaly, and while it stays up at night it naps during the day.
This is a gem for sure, and a nice choice for any toddler! We give it 5 stars. :)
