KinderGlo Nightlights – Love, Love, LOVE!

These nightlights are SO going on my favorite products of 2010 list! I absolutely love them and believe you will too when you see what makes them so specialFirst of all, its not just a nightlight. Its a toy made of nontoxic plastic that gives a bit when you squeeze it. It is lit by an led light that changes colors and is never hot to the touch. Each nightlight comes with a charger that you plug into the wall, and it has several glow options. Just push the button on the bottom of the light and you can choose to have it change colors continuously by itself or stay on one particular favorite color. It can stay on all night and be charged in the morning or you can choose to have it automatically shut off after 30 minutes. Cool, right?

Emmas KinderGlo Nightlight

Thanks to KinderGlo, we were able to receive a nightlight to test out and review! I chose the Brontosaurus nightlight because I love dinosaurs and because Im pregnant with a little boy whose nursery theme will be centered around dinosaurs. There is actually a super cute Tyrannosaurus KinderGlo light as well I love that they have designs that boys as well as girls will love. Anyway, the Brontosaurus ended up being a huge hit with my 2 1/2-year-old so I havent told her that it wasnt actually intended for her right now that light is all hers. 😉 The first night she even took it to bed with her!

Her initial reaction to the nightlight was so adorable I had to get my Flip out and record it for you. I also wanted you to see how the light changes color and sits on the charger:

Each nightlight comes with a charger (the blue disc the dino is sitting on) and a 6-foot long power cord. My dino wasnt charged when I received him, but it took only a few seconds to plug the charger in and place him on it. I was delighted to see that he started glowing and changing colors immediately so we turned the lights off and Emma and I were able to enjoy a beautiful light show.

It took me awhile to figure out how exactly to change the settings from all-night glowing to 30-minute auto shut-off, but once you get the hang of it its not a problem. There is only one button and you have to follow the instructions exactly to get it to stay at a certain color all night or for 30 minutes. You can see exactly how it works here at the KinderGlo website, and the instructions are also included in the setup guide that comes with the nightlight. Not the most simple and straightforward method of changing the settings, but it is doable. And very rewarding. 🙂 All in all, Im glad they give us all of those options.

Final Thoughts: We are LOVING our KinderGlo nightlight. Not only is it perfect for lighting up a dark room just enough to let little ones get to sleep, its a favorite friend/toy kids can play with anytime! Everyone who has seen ours so far has asked where I found it and its a hit with other children, too. I would love to be able to get one for every kid I know!
